Evidr ("we," "our," or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with your use of the Evidr mobile application.
Our Privacy-First Commitment
Evidr is designed with privacy as a core principle:

Information Stored Locally on Your Device
When you use Evidr, the following information is stored locally on your device only:
Incident Documentation
- Incident descriptions and notes you create
- Dates, times, and locations you manually enter
- Case numbers or reference identifiers you assign
- Custom categories and tags you create
Evidence Files
- Photos you capture or select from your photo library
- Videos you record or select from your photo library
- Documents you attach (PDFs, images, etc.)
- All media files are stored in the app's local storage container
App Settings & Preferences
- Your customization preferences (theme, sort order, etc.)
- Template configurations you create
- Storage management settings
- Onboarding completion status
Export History
- CSV and PDF files you export are stored in the app's local Documents folder
- These files remain on your device unless you manually delete them
How Your Data is Stored
Local Storage Only
All data is stored in your device's local storage using:
- SwiftData for structured data (incidents, templates, settings)
- File system for media files (photos, videos, documents)
- UserDefaults for app preferences
No Cloud Sync
Evidr does not include cloud synchronization. Your data:
- Never leaves your device
- Is not backed up to our servers
- Is only backed up through your device's standard backup (see below)
Device Backups
Your Evidr data may be included in:
- iCloud Backup (if you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device)
- iTunes/Finder Backup (if you back up your device to a computer)
These backups are controlled by Apple and your device settings, not by Evidr. To exclude Evidr from backups, you can disable backup for the app in your device settings.
Permissions Required
Evidr requires the following permissions to function:
Camera Access
- Purpose: To capture photos and videos for incident documentation
- When requested: When you tap "Take Photo" or "Record Video"
- What we access: Only the specific photos/videos you capture within the app
- Data storage: Files are stored locally in the app container
Photo Library Access
- Purpose: To select existing photos and videos from your library
- When requested: When you tap "Photos & Videos" to add evidence
- What we access: Only the specific items you select
- Data storage: Files are copied to the app's local storage
File System Access
- Purpose: To save exported files (CSV, PDF) that you can access via the Files app
- When requested: When you export incident reports
- What we access: Only the Documents folder within the app container
Notifications (Optional)
- Purpose: To remind you about scheduled follow-ups (Pro feature)
- When requested: When you enable follow-up scheduling
- What we send: Local notifications only (not sent through any server)
Your Control Over Data
Access Your Data
- All data is accessible within the app
- Exported files can be accessed via the Files app
- You can view, edit, or delete any information at any time
Delete Your Data
- Delete individual incidents from the incident list
- Delete individual evidence items from incident details
- Delete all data by deleting the app from your device
- Clear old exports through the Settings → Storage Management section
Export Your Data
- Export incidents as CSV files for use in spreadsheet applications
- Export incidents as PDF files for archival or sharing
- All exports are generated locally and saved to your device
Third-Party Services
Evidr does not integrate with any third-party services except:
Apple Services (Required for App Functionality)
When you make a purchase:
- Apple processes the payment (we never see your payment information)
- We only receive a transaction ID to verify your purchase
- No personal information is transmitted to our servers
Data Security
On-Device Encryption
- Your device's storage is encrypted by iOS (if you have a passcode set)
- Evidr benefits from iOS's built-in security features
- We do not implement additional encryption (to maintain privacy and avoid export restrictions)
No Network Transmission
- Evidr does not transmit data over the internet
- The app functions fully offline
- No data is sent to remote servers
App Permissions
- We only request permissions necessary for core functionality
- You can deny permissions and still use other features of the app
- Permission status can be changed in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security
Children's Privacy
Evidr is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used this app, please contact us.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in:
- The "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
- The app's Settings → About section
- The app's update notes in the App Store
Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Data Breach Notification
Because Evidr stores all data locally on your device and does not transmit data to servers:
- We cannot experience a data breach of your personal information
- Your data security depends on your device's security (use a strong passcode)
- If your device is lost or stolen, your data may be at risk
We recommend:
- Using a strong device passcode or biometric authentication
- Enabling Find My iPhone
- Regularly backing up your device
- Not storing highly sensitive information without additional precautions
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including:
Right to Access
- You have full access to all data stored in the app
- You can export data at any time
Right to Delete
- You can delete any or all data within the app
- Deleting the app removes all local data
Right to Portability
- Export features allow you to move data to other systems
- CSV format ensures compatibility with many applications
Right to Withdraw Consent
- You can revoke permissions at any time in iOS Settings
- You can stop using the app at any time
International Users
Evidr is available worldwide. Because all data is stored locally on your device:
- No data crosses international borders via our services
- Local data protection laws apply based on your device's location
- You are responsible for complying with local laws regarding documentation and recording
Legal Compliance
Law Enforcement Requests
Because we do not have access to your data:
- We cannot provide your data in response to legal requests
- Law enforcement would need to obtain data directly from your device
- We cannot assist in data recovery or access
No Governmental Surveillance
- We do not participate in any government surveillance programs
- We have no user data to provide to authorities
- Your data is as private as your device
